Postpartum Recovery: How to make Padsicles

J.Mason

What are padsicles?

A padsicle is a sanitary napkin (pad) that's put in the freezer then put in your underwear to relieve pain and encourage healing after a vaginal birth. They not only ease pain, but also reduce swelling, bruising, and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids and vaginal stitches.

What's needed?

  1. Pads (You can choose the brand you want; however, Honey Pot Postpartum Pads come with Lavender & Aloe already in them, all you need to add is witch hazel)

  2. Essential Oil (Lavender) - Optional

  3. Witch Hazel

  4. Aloe

How do you make them?

  1. Partially unwrap a few pads at a time but don't detach the wrapper.

  2. Spread the aloe down the entire pad (from end to end).

  3. Pour a teaspoon of witch hazel down the middle.

  4. Add a few drops of lavender (Optional).
