We are so thankful to everyone who joined us for Family Service of Rhode Island’s 19th annual Brighter Futures Luncheon.  As our honoree, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse shared, we need to come together to help RI children – our kids – to get the mental and behavioral support they need when and where they need it most. Together we raised more than $260,000 to help kids and their families with programs like…
  1. Children’s Mobile Crisis, supporting kids and their parents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with immediate, on-site care and support during behavioral or mental health crises;
  2. Youth Mental Health First Aid, helping any caregiver to recognize unique risk factors and warning signs so that they can intervene earlier to help kids experiencing a mental health challenge.
  3. Care from FSRI clinical experts, so that all kids, no matter what their circumstances, can get the mental and behavioral health support they need – and creating a stronger base for a lifetime of wellness.
If you were planning to give yesterday but were not able to, you can still donate here! We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our partners, listed below, for your leadership in stepping forward in investing in our children’s futures right now.  And for those who missed it, check out our feature video, created by our creative partner and sponsor Rustle&Spark, which speaks about what your investment means for our kids.

Brighter Futures 2022 Sets Fundraising Record https://www.familyserviceri.org/brighter-futures-2022-fundraising-record/ Wed, 05 Oct 2022 14:18:46 +0000 https://www.familyserviceri.org/?p=7418 It was so heartwarming to see so many great friends back in person again yesterday at our Brighter Futures Annual Luncheon honoring Speaker Shekarchi!

After a two-year virtual hiatus, we had over 500 guests join us on October 3, including so many Rhode Island government and business leaders, and raised over $270,000 for FSRI’s early childhood development programs. Just INCREDIBLE!

Thank you so much for your support! This community shows us time and time again that together we can do great things.

There’s still time to give!

Text #1: Virtual Event of Brighter Futures 2022 https://www.familyserviceri.org/brighter-futures-virtual-01/ Mon, 03 Oct 2022 13:00:41 +0000 https://www.familyserviceri.org/?p=7380 Thank you for taking part in our Brighter Futures Luncheon – virtual experience!

Each year, Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) honors a visionary who has had a transformational impact on the lives of our state’s children and families. This year’s theme, Survive & Thrive, commemorates the efforts of FSRI’s early childhood programs, which work to end preventable infant deaths, fill the gap in healthcare equity, and promote healthy growth for all infants and children.

This year we will be honoring House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi for his tireless work in the RI Statehouse to advance issues being faced by our underserved children and families. In 2022, Speaker Shekarchi spearheaded the passage of a budget amendment to invest $119 million from Rhode Island’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, which includes $44.5 million to support children, families, and social programs and $29.5 million to promote affordable housing, housing stability supports and broadband.

During our virtual program, you will receive 6 text messages, each with a shortcut to the next part of the program.

Before we get started, we’d like to introduce you to a few folks.
